Colleges across the US are seeing students rushing to classes— but not on foot.
Instead, many students have adopted hoverboards as their go-to transportation from class to class, downtown, and everywhere.
On one hand, these self-balancing, motorized boards get people around quickly, and they are fun. But they can also inadvertently run into pedestrians who may not even see them coming.
Most hoverboards are purchased online, and can run up to $1,800 for the elite IO Hawk. Here we have yet another accessory that divides the haves from the have nots, and may be dangerous to the rider and to passersby to boot.
Let’s keep an eye on this trend.
